Emisphere Technologies, Cedar Knolls, NJ, has received confirmation that its Sodium N-[8-(2-hydroxybenzoyl) Amino] Caprylate (SNAC) carrier is GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) for use in food and dietary supplements. Following evaluation of research and toxicology data, Emisphere’s SNAC was found to be safe at a dosage up to 250 mg per day.
